Our first subject is out of Massachusetts.There's alot of controversy on whether a 48 year old man,who spent 19 years in prison for kidnapping and raping a 7 year old boy,should wear a GPS tracking device. He will be on probation for the next 10 years but the state wants him to wear a tracking device because he doesn't have a plan to keep himself from doing this again even though phycologists have said he is no longer a sexual threat. The judge doesn't believe she has the authority to impose the GPS in his probation because it wasn't part of his conditions for probation when he was sentenced in 1990. Sex offenders whose crimes were committed after December 2006 are required to wear a GPS device while on probation. The 2006 date is significant because that's when the new statute went into effect.

Our second subject is out of Georgetown,Texas. Although alot of security measures have been made to ensure that large planes won't be used as weapons after 911,there hasn't been anything done for small planes as proven on 2-18-10. A man with a grudge with the IRS went on a suicide mission,when he few his single engine plane into an office building where the first floor had IRS workers,killing one person inside as well as himself. Small planes don't need a flight plan filed like large plans do. Pilots also don't have to go through metal detectors. smaller planes only carry about 100 gallons of gas compared to large planes gas consumption of 1000 gallons making them less of a threat. In 1994,a Maryland truck driver with a history of unstableness crashed his small engine plane on the White House south lawn. In 2002, a 15 year old boy stole a plane and crashed it into a downtown skyscraper in Tampa,Fl. I think it's about time they change the rules for small planes as well.
